HI! I'm almost swamped under...
I have my an observation and portfolio review next Friday for my teaching qualification here. So I have been working a lot and getting everything ready. I hope to make something this weekend.....
I find it interesting how worried I get about being 'assessed'....and then I realize how often I am assessing my pupils in class. Although I try to be low key about it, I wonder if they feel judged and anxious? I'm going to ask them tomorrow. I hope not...my class is filled with some of the funniest and brightest 6 year olds I've
ever met and I am very blessed to be their teacher. They constantly keep me thinking and on my toes...but they also always remind me of what amazing gifts they are to be around.
I'm not convinced learning should not be an absolute blast!

LPSC50 and Hopes Stamps Eternal Challenge
Here is a card I am submitting for the Little Paper Shop's Let's Get Sketch Challenge LPSC50 and Hopes Stamps Eternal: Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #41. This is the first time I think I've done a Sketch Challenge and combined 2 challenges! I really think the sketch by Allison stretched me because I've never really disciplined my self to "follow rules" when crafting. And I enjoyed it! I had to really think about how my stamps would work. I choose a LPS stamp set "Just Bee-Cause" ..because I adore it...and have seen what I kind of wanted to do with it...but never really had a complete pic. When I saw this sketch...it all came together.
The colours of the Hopes Stamps Eternal Cupcake Challenge is what made it all click as well. I didn't want to do a yellow and black bee thing...and when I saw these cupcakes... well I just knew these bees would love them.
It's mid week and I probably should of saved it for the weekend...but I think crafting is one of those things you keep practising to get better and better. I want to become more creative and skilled as a crafter. I have just been in awe by the cards and crafts on the blogs and I get so excited to have a go.
We'll see... I've not overly thrilled about the card...but I really wanted to try sewing more because I love all the sewing Mel's does on her blog (click). I think she is just inspiring, uses such beautiful detail and provides easy to follow tutorials. So I am going to start trying more of her ideas...
Here is my card... I hope you enjoy...
The card was embossed with cuttlebug and highlighted with....glitter :) The paper is Basic Grey Two Scoops. They have just been fitting with the HSE Cupcake challenges and I LOVE Two Scoops. I sewed some hemp and stamped with Close to My Heart Inks...desert sand, garden and baby pink.
Here is a second one I modified it just a little...should not of added the black...but I can't wait for the weekend because the colours and sketch really inspired me and I want to play with them some more! I really love the "Just Bee-Cause" stamp set by LPS!
We are half way through the week! Hope you are enjoying it...

Cupcake CRAZY and it's not my fault!
I'm somewhat new to blogging and I am just realizing there are some side effects.
Cupcake CRAVINGS! I visit DAILY Cupcakes Take The Cake and ponder all the unique, delicious and tasty cupcakes they highlight. so far they have been satifying my cravings and looking has been enough.

BUT...it was the latest Hopes Stamps Eternal: Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #41 that really threw me over the top. The inspiration is yummy chocolate cakes with pastel frosting I KNOW must be in different fruity flavours.
That was it! “Step away from the computer...” I had to get out of the house. All last night I thought, dreamt and craved up cakes. I even started merging card challenges together into cupcake fantasies!
What if I took...Hope Stamps Eternal and merged it with Prairie Paperscrafts and Stamps colour challenge - Chocolate ORANGE! What a cupcake that would be!
Travel has been limited with the snow and my youngest is a little over being frosty outside ALL the time. But, I had to get out of my house, far, far away from any cupcake making ingredients.
So, we headed to our nearest indoor playground...complete with a café that supplies fresh, organic (and healthy) soups, crispy breads and affordable children's lunch boxes. As I finished my queue for my favourite tomato basil and seeded bread, collected the kids sandwiches, we headed to the till.
I've never seem them before (and I'm here pretty often)
Was I dreaming? Awake?
OMGosh...Beautiful...bright...pastel cupcakes! With chocolatey cakes and fruit frostings in raspberry, blue berry, lemon and more!!!! Of course I bought one...but then I did something I've NEVER done before.
I asked if I could take a picture. I told her about the blogs, about all of you...about how I had been constantly thinking of cupcakes with fruity frosting (yes...she thought I was a fruity cupcake I'm sure).
But I did... just for you (and me for later...just in case all the cupcake blogs disappear...or the internet goes down in the snow...or...you get it). Enjoy!
Oh... and by the way. On the way home I did pass a Lakeland (it's a shop for cooks). They decided, my son and his friend, they wanted to make cupcakes. OK, I may of suggested it. OK. I confess, it was my idea...but they wanted strawberry frosting. So we looked for fruity flavouring...but there was no strawberry flavouring to be found.
Guess what they had!? Yes... we went home and made my combined challenges cupcake...
Chocolate Orange!
Chocolate Orange!
I LOVE the blogging world. THANK YOU! and here is a cupcake make (and eaten) just for you.
